Today plastic particles can be found almost everywhere, including the air we breathe, the soil we cultivate, and even the oceans we use for fishing. Particularly for the latter, plastic particles smaller than 5mm – so called microplastics, are a tremendous source of pollution, threatening plants, animals and ultimately humans. In order to avert this threat, solutions preventing and removing the pollution with microplastics need to be found.
During the conference, the topic of microplastic pollution will be addressed from three major perspectives:
