Final report for the European Commission, Directorate-General Energy

The consortium led by E4tech Ltd with RE-CORD and Wageningen University and Research Centre announces the publication of “From the Sugar Platform to biofuels and biochemicals”, the Final report for the European Commission Directorate-General Energy.

The Report “From the Sugar Platform to biofuels and biochemicals” uses literature surveys, market data and stakeholder input to provide a comprehensive base for policymakers and industry – identifying the key benefits and development needs for the sugar platform.
The study created a database for 94 sugar-based products: case studies describe the value proposition, while market outlook and EU activity for ten value chains has been developed.
EU competitiveness has been assessed and compared to US, China and Brazil, where attractive conditions for feedstock supply and investment exist.
