Aafko Scheringa joins Electrochaea as Senior Director Sales

Aafko Scheringa is the new Senior Director Sales of power-to-gas specialist Electrochaea. With this newly created position, the company continues the commercialization and global roll-out of its unique biomethanation technology.

Electrochaea has developed a market ready technology that uses biomethanation to produce climate neutral gas by reusing CO2 and adding green hydrogen. The gas that is produced can replace fossil natural gas, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions, storing intermittent renewable energy and preserving valuable investments in existing gas distribution, storage and end use infrastructure.

Scheringa is a highly experienced international sales specialist. Before joining Electrochaea, he was Global Account Manager with Paques Technology BV, one of the world’s leading companies in the development and construction of biotechnological purification systems for wastewater and gases. For over 13 years, he was responsible for the capital sales management in Northern America and Northern Europe. Prior to that, he spent six years as a sales engineer for the global U.S. chemical company Nalco Chemical. Scheringa is a chemical engineer with degrees from the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen and Utrecht University. His responsibilities at Electrochaea include the development of business with international customers with a focus on contract and transaction closings. Scheringa reports directly to Managing Director Mich Hein.
