The nova-Institute introduces the members of its Renewable Feedstock Department

The newly-established Renewable Feedstock Department provides essential data, analysis and strategic intelligence to help the chemical industry transition away from fossil carbon

A diverse team of experts shape the department with their deep scientific and economic expertise. It consists of environmental scientist Christopher vom Berg as head of the department, physicist and nova-Institute founder Michael Carus, agricultural economist Olaf Porc, psychologist Verena Roberts  and biologist Anke Schwarzenberger.

The team members of the department offer different services to analyse the global and regional availability, demand, costs, and sustainability of all renewable carbon sources, from biomass and CO₂ to recycled waste:

  • Feedstock availability and potential analysis
  • Market, demand and cost analysis
  • Material and carbon flows
  • Feedstock conversion, transformation pathways and technology scouting
  • Feedstock sustainability
  • Policy, certification and strategic advisory

The Renewable Feedstock Department hosts an upcoming event, i.e. a concise and timely expert webinar with Christopher and Michael entitled “Are you ready for a bio-based quota?”. This webinar will support companies to prepare for the political changes ahead.
