The first day of the conference is dedicated to the topic of “Defossilisation of the Chemical Industry”, with speakers from: Roland Berger (DE), CEFIC (BE), Godavari Biorefineries (IN), nova-Institute (DE), Anniki (AT), Verbio (DE), Blue Circle Olefins (NL), Omni Tech International (US), Green D Market Analytics (US), Michelin (FR), Pili (FR), University Twente (NL), Neste (FI) and Indaver Plastics2Chemicals (BE).
Fine chemicals are a special sector of the chemical industry, with speakers from: Praj Industries (IN), Evonik (DE), Kemira (FI), Henkel (DE) and Celanese (US).
Lignin utilisation is close to becoming a reality. Speakers will present the latest developments: Vito (BE), Södra (SE), Fibenol (EE), Lignin Industries (SE) and Lixea Sweden (SE).
The long conference day will end with the panel discussion The Future of Chemical Industry in Europe: Defossilised and Competitive, how this can work?, with panellists from: CEFIC (BE), European Commission DG GROW (BE), Mondi (AT/UK), Blue Circle Olefins (NL), University of Twente (NL), BASF (DE), Godavari Biorefineries (IN), Change Chemistry (US)
The evening’s activities focus on networking opportunities, which will take place during the dinner buffet, and the long networking breaks throughout the day.
The second day is fully dedicated to the topic “Fossil-free Plastics”, yes to plastics, but plastics from renewable carbon only. One option are bio-based polymers, with speakers from: IKT University Stuttgart (DE), Avantium (NL), Zhongke Guosheng (CN), nova-Institute (DE), Novamont (IT), Corbion (NL), Futerro (BE), Cerdia (CH), UPM Biochemicals (DE/FI), Borealis (AT) and INEOS (CH).
The second future options are CO2-based polymers, with speakers from: Vioneo (CH), NG Nordic (FI) and Econic (UK).
The third and most important option is recycling, with speakers from: DITF (DE), Procter & Gamble (BE/US), University of Twente (NL) and Cargill (NL).
An additional topic are sustainable polymers, with speakers from: Fraunhofer UMSICHT (DE), TNO (NL), Technip Energies (FR) and Johnson Matthey (UK).
The next highlight is the innovation award “Renewable Material of the Year 2025”, with following nominees: Bloom Biorenewables (CH), Borregaard (NO), Cyclize (DE), Sci-Lume Labs (US), Sustanix Materialtech (NL) and Trinseo (IT). There will be additional presentations from the earlier winner Askar Innovations (IN) and sponsor Covestro (DE).
There will be another networking meeting point in the evening.
The third and final day covers two different topics. The first topic is the complex subject of biodegradation, with speakers from: HYDRA Marine Sciences (DE), WUR (NL), BASF (DE), nova-Institute (DE), University Hamburg (DE), INAK (DE), CbDP (DE), bündnis mikroplastikfrei (AT), Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) and Corda (UK).
The other topic is “Setting the Frame for Renewable Carbon”, with speakers from: European Commission DG ENV (BE), ING (NL), Dutch Ministry (NL), CO2 Value Europe (BE), nova-Institute (DE), Crop Energies (DE), TÜV Austria (BE), SCS Standards (US), Carbon Minds (DE), EMPA (CH) and BRASKEM (NL/BR)
There will be 14 interactive workshops over the three days, run by the following companies: Holcim (DE), Invest Lithuania (LT), Syklo (FI), PtX Lab Lausitz (DE), Dutch Ministry / TNO / Skytree / Alta (NL), Fraunhofer UMSICHT (DE), HYDRA / BASF (DE), TNO (NL), nova-Institute (DE) and Südzucker (DE).

Finally, there will be an exhibition featuring 29 exclusive exhibitors. Please find the full list and further details here: renewable-materials.eu/exhibitors/
