Bags on Board, a Dallas-based company that offers compact, refillable waste pick-up bag dispensers and refill rolls designed to easily dispose of pet poop, announced today that it has signed an industry-exclusive agreement with cycleWood Solutions to produce a line of environmentally conscious waste pick-up bags. The new GREEN PUPS™ line by Bags on Board will be manufactured using cycleWood Solutions’ award-winning Xylomer™ Technology.

The new GREEN PUPS bags will have the added benefit of not requiring the water and energy needed to grow and harvest corn, which is often used in current eco-friendly positioned bags on the market. In addition, the GREEN PUPS packaging will be made with recycled paper and its refill rolls will feature a coreless design, further reducing plastic waste.
According to Smith, “GREEN PUPS are made using natural lignin, which breaks down faster than regular plastic. Lignin, a renewable material, is repurposed from the paper-making industry, which typically burns or disposes of it as a byproduct of making paper.”
“Waste pick-up bags are a perfect application for our Xylomer lignin technology,” said Nhiem Cao, cycleWood Solutions president and CEO. “We are able to substitute a sustainable alternative in place of plastic without sacrificing performance.”
The cycleWood team will be at The Bramton Company booth (#2901), during the Global Pet Expo taking place in Orlando, Fla., March 4-6, to help demo the new GREEN PUPS waste pick-up bags.
Guaranteed leak-proof and with built-in odor control, the new GREEN PUPS waste pick-up bags will be available in pet specialty stores in Summer 2015. The new products include:
- GREEN PUPS Refill Rolls (120ct./MSRP $16.99).
- GREEN PUPS Handle Pick-up Bags (100ct./MSRP $16.99).
- GREEN PUPS Refill Rolls (60ct./MSRP $9.99).
To demonstrate their commitment to the environment, Bags on Board and cycleWood Solutions will donate a portion of all GREEN PUPS sales to the Arbor Day Foundation to plant new trees. The companies have committed to help plant at least 5,000 new trees in the first year of sales of GREEN PUPS.
