January 1, 2003 a new “super institute” has been formed through a merger of two Swedish institutes – STFI (The Swedish Pulp and Paper Research Institute) and Packforsk (The Institute for Packaging and Logistics). Thus the research knowledge from STFI will be reinforced by customer and business orientation from Packforsk. The institute is going to work in the following main areas: pulp, paper, packaging materials, packaging and logistics.
