Orineo Voted ‘Bio-based Material of the Year 2016’ By Industry Peers

Touch of Nature® recognised for innovative character and functional validity

Belgian SME Orineo won the prestigious Bio-based Material of the Year Award for its bio-based Touch of Nature® materials at the 9th International Conference on Bio-based Materials in Cologne, Germany, organised by the Nova-institut.

Selected by over 200 industry experts, Touch of Nature® was recognised for its innovative character and functional validity. The material has already been used successfully in a range of design projects where environmental credentials were valued, for example as a bio-based countertop at the OR Coffee shop in Ghent, Belgium.

“At Orineo, we are proud that Touch of Nature® has been recognised by our peers as the most exciting new material in the bio-based industry. This Award adds weight to our ever-growing list of references in the field of environmentally-sensitive design and sustainable architecture,” said Philippe Willems, Founder and Director of Orineo.
