nova-experts introduced: Kristijan Mrsic

Kristijan Mrsic has been an integral part of the Communications Department at nova-Institute since February 2024. In his role, he manages a diverse range of responsibilities spanning press relations, social media management, and dissemination activities. Kristijan is deeply involved in crafting and executing communication strategies that enhance the visibility of nova’s projects and research within the renewable materials and bioeconomy sectors. He contributes to the Renewable Carbon News, the nova newsletter and report marketing.

Kristijan additionally contributes to dissemination activities, particularly within the context of EU-funded projects, where communication plays an important role in supporting collaboration and sharing research results. He assists with projects like HICCUPS by helping to develop and implement dissemination plans aimed at ensuring the project’s findings reach relevant stakeholders. His work helps make research outcomes accessible to industry professionals, policymakers, and the general public through various communication channels.

Kristijan is also involved in the communication efforts for several high-profile conferences organised by nova-Institute. These include the Cellulose Fibres Conference, and the Renewable Materials Conference. In these roles, he oversees the promotion of the events, ensuring that they attract industry professionals, researchers, and other key stakeholders. His responsibilities include developing conference materials, handling media relations, and managing event-related social media campaigns to enhance the visibility of these important gatherings within the sustainable materials landscape.

Background and expertise

Kristijan holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy, with a focus on argumentation theory, epistemology, and philosophy of science. Prior to joining nova, he worked in press relations, content management, media monitoring and analytics, gaining experience across a wide range of industries.

An avid sports enthusiast, Kristijan enjoys activities such as basketball and cycling holidays. In addition to his professional pursuits, he has a deep passion for literature.
