Kristijan Mrsic has been an integral part of the Communications Department at nova-Institute since February 2024. In his role, he manages a diverse range of responsibilities spanning press relations, social media management, and dissemination activities. Kristijan is involved in crafting and executing communication strategies that enhance the visibility of nova’s projects and research within the renewable materials and bioeconomy sectors.
Kristijan is also involved in the communication efforts for several conferences organised by the nova-Institute. These include the Advanced Recycling Conference, the Cellulose Fibres Conference, and the Renewable Materials Conference.
Kristijan contributes to dissemination activities, particularly within the context of EU-funded projects, where communication plays an important role in supporting collaboration and sharing research results. He assists with projects like HICCUPS by helping to develop and implement dissemination plans aimed at ensuring the project’s findings reach relevant stakeholders. His work helps make research outcomes accessible to industry professionals, policymakers, and the general public through various communication channels. In the area of press relations, Kristijan works closely with media outlets and journalists to ensure comprehensive coverage of nova’s work, helping to bridge the gap between complex research topics and public understanding. In addition to these core responsibilities, Kristijan contributes regularly to Renewable Carbon News and the nova newsletter, where he provides updates on key developments within the bio-based economy, renewable materials, and advanced recycling sectors.
Background and expertise
Kristijan holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy, with a focus on argumentation theory, epistemology, and philosophy of science. Prior to joining nova, he worked in media monitoring and analytics, press relations and content management gaining experience across a wide range of industries.
An avid sports enthusiast, Kristijan enjoys activities such as basketball and cycling holidays. In addition to his professional pursuits, he has a deep passion for literature.
