KiOR Inc. and Dynamic Fuels LLC are working to put advanced and cellulosic RINs into the marketplace. The two companies were recently granted additional biofuels registrations by the U.S. EPA for their respective fuel outputs.
On August 17, Syntroleum Corp. announced that Dynamic Fuels was granted Part 79 registration for its renewable gasoline by the EPA. The designation enables the company to generate 1.5 advanced biofuel – or D5 – renewable identification numbers (RINs) of each gallon of its renewable gasoline blendstock when blended into petroleum gasoline at up to a 10 percent concentration.
