PT Musim Mas, one of the leading Indonesian palm plantations, refinaries, specialty fats, finished soap and palm products producers in Indonesia is building a new Lurgi fatty acid and glycerine plant with total production capacity of 110.000 MT/year. The state-of-the art plant is expected to be in production by end of first quarter 2003 and will be managed by key personnels with wide experience in the production, logistics, marketing and sales of fatty acids and soap chips. The full range of palm based fatty acids including 98/99% purity C8 to C18 fatty acids will be produced. In addition, PT Musim Mas is also building a soap chip plant of 60.000 MT/year capacity next to the fatty acid plant. Fresh high quality fatty acids blanketed with nitrogen will be transferred via pipelines to the soap chip plant to ensure that only top quality soap chips are produced. This initial investment marks PT Musim Mas foray into the oleochemical industry.
