Helian Polymers have been appointed by CJ Biomaterials as their distributing partner for their new amorphous aPHA grade PHACT A1000P. CJ Biomaterials’ aPHA is the only amorphous PHA commercially available at the moment. It is industrial, home, soil compostable, and marine biodegradable (all of them certified by TuV Austria). PHACT A1000P in combination with other biopolymers increases or maintains bio content, improves biodegradability, and improves edge trim, tear & impact resistance.
CJ Biomaterials launched its biomaterial activities in 2010 and has been planning partnerships with global top-tier customers ever since. As part of the CJ Corporation, CJ Biomaterials plays a significant part in its global operations with production sites in Indonesia, Malaysia, China, the USA, and Brazil.
A 5,000-ton-per-year dedicated PHA plant in Indonesia was commissioned in 2022 and has been shipping its first production of amorphous aPHA since Q1 of 2022.
