Food Colorant Meets Bio-Based Plastic

Encapsulated colorants restrict migration in plastics formulations

Combining plastics based on renewable raw materials with food colorants opens up new ways of achieving closed loop recycling. This has inspired the Grafe Group, Blankenhain, Germany, to develop a range of corresponding color masterbatches which it is presenting at Fakuma for the first time.

The silica (SiO2) encapsulated colorants (SECs) from Sensient Imaging Technologies GmbH, Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Germany, greatly restrict migration in plastics formulations
