Shell Chemical has idled 100,000 mt per year of its Neodol alcohol capacity in Geismar, USA, following the company’s construction of 150,000 mt of new higher-alcohols capacity at the site. After the idling , the company’s global higher-alcohols capacity will be 440,000 mt.
