Croatian specialist packaging producer EcoCortec has announced it has expanded its warehouse at the production site in Beli Manastir, Croatia. The company has installed a new pallet racking system that has more than doubled the manufacturer’s warehouse capacity.
Another improvement is the addition of a brand new, high-tech converting line for zip lock and heat sealing bags. The new converting line is able to produce film in widths ranging from 80 mm to 680 mm, and depths of 80 to 700 mm with film thickness between 50-200 microns. The installation aims to increase the plant’s production capacity as the firm plans to grow its business without compromising its service standards.
In line with its ambition for continuous growth, EcoCortec is currently in the third phase of the facility’s planned construction. The ongoing development phase includes a new production hall with three extrusion lines, branding of vapor phase corrosion inhibitor (VpCI) paper and storage of Cortec chemical products, the firm said. This expansion represents a 3 million euro ($3.9 million) investment in the site and, says the company, is designed to boost both the plant’s production capacity and the shipped volumes of product in order to continue to meet customer demand.
EcoCortec has operated in the bioplastics market for 10 years, and now boasts a strong market presence in Europe, becoming a leading manufacturer of bioplastics films and bags. With a network of over thirty distributors, the company is now seeking to expand into Asia.
