Crompton Corporation, the US global producer and marketer of polymer products and specialty chemicals, has decided to enter the Kosher glycerine market by January 2003 with a production based in its Memphis, Tennessee, facility. The decision is driven by a growing demand for Kosher glycerine from the food ingredients’ market which has gradually stopped buying animal based glycerine owing to concerns about BSE. The planned production of kosher grade glycerine will complement Crompton’s product range since the US firm already markets Kosher fatty acids.
