CarbonFree debuts endurocal®, the world’s first zero-carbon mineral

CarbonFree, a leader in carbon capture technology, today announced the launch of its premier product, endurocal®, the world’s first zero-carbon mineral to offer superior performance and functionality to both precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) and ground calcium carbonate (GCC).

Made from recycled carbon, endurocal – more formally known as endurocalcalcium carbonate (ECC) – is created through CarbonFree’s proprietary SkyCycle process, which captures carbon emissions from hard-to-abate industrial sources before they enter the atmosphere. The new solution provides greater control of particle shape and size that helps enable innovation, customization and optimization across a diverse range of applications. In addition, endurocal starts with a pharmaceutical-grade calcium carbonate that is up to 99% purity, with superior brightness and whiteness.

CarbonFree’s endurocalwill also help decarbonize global supply chains by enabling manufacturers to reduce Scope 3 emissions while remaining cost competitive to GCC and PCC. The process captures carbon emissions and converts them into a carbon-neutral version of calcium carbonate.

As the first zero-carbon footprint calcium carbonate on the market, endurocal offers versatility to either drop-in existing formulations or create new ones, enabling various industries to evolve and build better products, including:
