Brazil Triples Ethanol Exports to U.S. with 340M Liters Through April

Investnews (Brazil) – English: Brazil’s ethanol exports to the United States totaled 340 million liters in the first four months of the year, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Cattle Raising and Supply (Mapa) said Monday.

This amount is more than half of the total exports recorded in 2005 (600 million liters). Exports to the United States can grow even more if President George Bush puts into practice his idea of reducing the tax on ethanol imports. Brazil currently pays US$0.54 per gallon of ethanol when exporting to the US.
