Altera to be merged with DSD

Consolidation as part of the company's new direction - Employees with extensive expertise have already been taken on

Altera System GmbH, founded in 2020, is to be merged with Der Grüne Punkt – Duales System Deutschland GmbH (DSD). Altera operates a nationwide, household-based system for collecting used sales packaging in accordance with Section 18 of the German Packaging Act.

“Our strategic direction is mainly focused on the internationalization of the GreenDot and the establishment of new technologies for plastics recycling, and a merger of Altera into DSD helps to support this,” says Mark Vester, Managing Director of both Altera and DSD.

Some Altera employees have already been transferred to DSD.

“These colleagues have outstanding expertise that we can put to very good use,” says Vester. Altera’s exemptions as a system will be returned and the contract with the joint body of the dual systems will be terminated.
