nova experts (re)introduced: Verena Roberts

Verena Roberts has been part of nova’s Renewable Feedstocks department since 2025, working within the Office Team to organise and run the Renewable Carbon Initiative (RCI).

She joined nova in October 2022 as Operational Lead of the RCI and serves as the central point of contact for all international members. In this role, she ensures the smooth day-to-day operation and coordination of the initiative across all levels, including management, projects, working groups, and the advisory board.

Verena oversees both internal and external communications, managing channels such as the website, social media, newsletters, and press activities. She is responsible for building and continuously improving the initiative’s operational structures, ensuring efficiency and clarity across all activities.

Additionally, she tracks progress against RCI objectives, supports strategic alignment, and leads the planning of webinars, workshops, and networking events.

Verena is also Project Lead for an upcoming project focused on raising awareness and fostering dialogue on renewable carbon across regions.

Background and expertise

Verena completed a vocational training as a Commercial Assistant for Foreign Languages (English and Spanish), combining advanced language training with business administration, economics, and international communication.

Verena holds a B.Sc. in Psychology from the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and has professional experience in both legal and clinical environments, including several years working in the United States.
