Investment over the last two years in the chemical recycling of plastics – and, to a lesser extent, other waste – could certainly not be described as booming. Nevertheless, the hope is that the relevant technologies – from pyrolysis and thermolysis through solvolysis to enzymatic recycling – will help to make plastics recyclable in the medium term
