6th N-FibreBase-Congress: Natural fibres on the rise

Biomaterial industry will meet in Essen on September 22-23, 2008

N-FibreBase_Kongress_kl.jpgThis year the N-FibreBase-Congress of the partner of the nova-Institut, M-Base Software & Engineering and the University of applied sciences Bremen (Professorship Biological Materials/Bionik), will take place for the sixth time.

For the first time the congress will be organised conjointly with the 11th AVK-annual conference in the Congress Center Süd, on the fair grounds Essen, in connection to the COMPOSITES EUROPE. Since the venue in Huerth, where the Congress took place in previous years, has reached its limits because of the growing number of participants, the cooperation will now open up new options.

Currently the interest of the industry in Natural-Fibre-Reinforced-Platics (NFRP) and Wood-Plastic-Composites (WPC) is on the rise because the management is worrying about further price increases for fossil and mineral raw materials. Biobased materials might be a solution– and therefore a sizable interest on natural fibres arises. Also regarding the CO2-discussion, these materials may convince in the future.

However, beside the aspects “renewable” and “good climate balance”, particularly those biomaterials will be sought-after which guarantee security of supply in view of the worldwide food crisis.

01kl_Turinnenverkleidung_Hanf-PP_nova.jpgThe congress offers great possibilities, to inform yourself, material and interbranch, about current developments. The thermal focus of the selected lectures this year lies not only on injection moulding with Natural-Fibre-Reinforced-Plastics but also on extrusion and special technologies such as moulding techniques, RTM or thermoforming will be presented by referees from industry. The conjoint evening event with the AVK and the exhibitors of the COMPOSITES EUROPE promises exciting contacts and further opportunities to come into discussion with the stackholders.

Please note that most of the presentations are held in German; there will be no simultaneous translation. Nevertheless most speakers and participants will understand you, if you talk to them in English. They will answer your questions during the breaks hence there won’t be a communication problem. At the 11th International AVK Conference all presentations will be translated simultaneous.

The nova-Institut will be present during the whole COMPOSITES EUROPE in hall 12 on stand 230e. The staff will show selected exhibits and arrange further information.
