In 2019, L\u2019Or\u00e9al invested in Carbios via its venture capital fund BOLD &#8211;&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lorealboldventures.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Business Opportunities for L\u2019Or\u00e9al Development<\/a>.&nbsp;<br><br>With \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.loreal.com\/fr\/nos-engagements\/pour-la-planete\/\">L\u2019Or\u00e9al for the Future\u201d<\/a>, our new sustainability program for 2030, we have taken a further step towards the fundamental transformation of our business and have set ambitious new objectives, particularly in the area of packaging:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>100%<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>By 2025, 100% of our plastic packaging will be refillable, reusable, recyclable or compostable<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>100%<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>By 2030, 100% of our plastic packaging will be derived from recycled materials or biosourced,&nbsp;and we will no longer use any virgin plastics of fossil origin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>100%<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>By 2030, the ingredients used in our formulas and all biosourced materials will be traceable and come from sustainable sources<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cWe have been working with Carbios since 2017 to develop this first bottle made from PET derived from enzymatic recycling technology, an alternative to mechanical recycling. We are pleased to announce today the feasibility of these bottles in a pilot phase and are delighted to be in a position to create the packaging of the future with our partners. This is a promising innovation for the years to come that demonstrates our commitment to bring to market more environmentally friendly packaging and which is part of a circularity initiative begun more than 15 years ago\u201d.<\/em><\/p><p>Jacques Playe, Packaging and Development Director, L\u2019Or\u00e9al<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our responsible packaging strategy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve these objectives, we are working with a number of strategic partners, giving it access to the best technologies.
