OSLO, NORWAY \u2013 14 April 2021 \u2013 Circa Group is honoured to share the news that our Scientific Advisor, Professor James Clark has been awarded the 2021 European Sustainable Chemistry Award (ESCA).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The award acknowledges Professor Clark\u2019s track record in the commercialisation of fundamental green chemistry research, alongside his outstanding contributions in developing green chemistry as a distinct area of chemistry and in building the global green chemistry community.<\/p>\n

The ESCA 2021 will be presented to Professor James Clark during the 5th<\/sup> European Chemical Society Conference on Green and Sustainable Chemistry, to be held virtually on 26 and 29 September 2021.<\/p>\n

Professor Clark founded and leads the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellency at the University of York. He established the leading scientific journal, Green Chemistry and the world\u2019s largest private membership network, the Green Chemistry Network.\u00a0 He has a strong interest in industrial symbiosis and waste utilisation \u2013 making chemicals, fuels and materials from chemical, food and other wastes \u2013 solving both the problems of increasing waste and diminishing resources.<\/p>\n

Professor James Clark, Circa\u2019s Scientific Advisor, said \u201cI am honoured to be recognised for my contribution to building up green chemistry and linking it to sustainability. If we are serious about curbing environmental and public health issues, we need more green chemicals like Circa\u2019s green solvent Cyrene\u2122. This is work for the whole green chemistry community and I am delighted to have played my part.\u201d<\/p>\n
