What was the problem, or gap, or opportunity?<\/p>\n<p>Ionada is an environmental engineering company that was formed out of the desire to provide a more efficient and environmentally friendly method to reduce flue gas contaminants such as SOx and CO2 for small and medium sized enterprises (SME) requiring emission reductions.<\/p>\n<p>Q: Tell us about your organization. What do you do?<br \/>\nIonada\u2019s patented carbon capture technology provides significant size and cost reductions for sources below one hundred thousand tons of CO2 per year.<\/p>\n<p>Our unique ceramic membrane design means our system design is very compact, from the size of a household refrigerator to a series of 20 ft shipping containers, depending on the CO2 reduction required.<\/p>\n<p>The system has a much smaller footprint than traditional designs and can easily be scaled up as increased CO2 reductions are mandated.<\/p>\n<p>Q: What stage of development are you?\u00a0 Choose one:<br \/>\nDemonstration stage \u2013 proven at small, integrated scale, but not yet commercially available<\/p>\n<p>Q: What do your technologies, products or services do and accomplish \u2013 how does it (they) work, who is it (they) aimed for?<\/p>\n<p>The use of hollow nano-porous ceramic tubes allow the amine absorbent to be in contact with the CO2 but at the same time remain clean and available for regeneration and reuse.<\/p>\n<p>The cross-over point for the Ionada\u2019s economice advantages compared to spray towers is in the CO2 capture range of 100,000 tons per year.<\/p>\n<p>For plants where space is at a premium the advantages of nano-porous ceramic tube design can extend to greater capture levels.<\/p>\n<p>Q: Competitively, what gives your technology, product or service set an edge in cost or performance, sustainability, or any other aspect, that makes it stand out from the crowd, In short, what makes it transformative?<br \/>\nIonada\u2019s modular compact technology allows for a new approach to carbon capture for SME emitters.<\/p>\n<p>Companies can focus on their core business and outsource their CO2 reduction requirements to Ionada.<\/p>\n<p>Our business approach is \u201cbuying the plume\u201d; taking the responsibility to meet the required emission target and secure the CO2 credit for our customers, while our customers focus on delivering low carbon fuels to the market.<\/p>\n<p>As well the modular nature of the technology allows it to be offered on a lease basis, or moved to an alternative site as circumstances demand.
