administration\u00a0and 117th\u00a0Congress.\u00a0A\u00a0broad\u00a0suite of\u00a0policies\u00a0will be needed\u00a0to\u00a0commercialize\u00a0carbon capture\u00a0and\u00a0removal technologies\u00a0and\u00a0enable\u00a0meeting the\u00a0administration\u2019s goal of\u00a0a 100 percent clean energy economy and net-zero emissions by 2050.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Building\u00a0upon\u00a0landmark\u00a0bipartisan\u00a0legislation, including\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.betterenergy.org\/blog\/primer-section-45q-tax-credit-for-carbon-capture-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2018\u00a0FUTURE Act<\/a>\u00a0and the recently passed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/carboncapturecoalition.org\/congress-acts-to-boost-carbon-capture-and-removal-in-year-end-spending-package\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 omnibus bill<\/a>,\u00a0Congress and the administration now have a\u00a0critical near-term opportunity to\u00a0advance a comprehensive and ambitious policy portfolio for large-scale deployment of carbon capture,\u00a0removal,\u00a0transport, use and\u00a0geological\u00a0storage\u00a0technologies.\u00a0Carbon capture\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0critical\u00a0component\u00a0for\u00a0the economywide decarbonization needed to meet midcentury climate goals,\u00a0while also generating new economic opportunities and\u00a0high-wage\u00a0jobs\u00a0across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Carbon Capture\u00a0Coalition looks forward to working with the Biden administration and the 117th\u00a0Congress\u00a0on shared priorities.\u00a0It is clear that\u00a0carbon\u00a0capture\u00a0and
