Climate change and social inequality are now considered as threats to sustainable development.<\/h3>\n

\"BioMonitor<\/a>This is the opening line for BioMonitor<\/a>\u2019s project video which was launched on 13 November. The aim of this video is to invite stakeholders within the bioeconomy to know more about the project through a series of questions, such as \u201cWhat is BioMonitor?\u201d, \u201cWhat is the role of national statistics in BioMonitor?\u201d and what BioMonitor\u2019s relation is to the future.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main goal of the project is to give everyone a clearer picture of the bioeconomy\u2019s impact in our lives today, and in the long-run. We wanted to lay out the societal challenges at the beginning to video to start a conversation about our project.<\/p>\n

By far, we have studied a great deal on the relation of the European bioeconomy strategy with the United Nation\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals using data and models. While we are working towards building an evidence-based framework, we also keep in mind who we\u2019re targeting. Primarily we engage with customs offices, statistics offices, policy makers and business representatives from bio-based sectors. By working together, we can synchronise the supply and demands of boosting the economy, at a local and European level, through the bioeconomy at a sustainable manner.<\/p>\n

One of the key activities in BioMonitor other than building the data and modelling framework is to engage with stakeholders in several exchanges and workshops. This is done to raise stakeholders\u2019 awareness and to validate their knowledge on our results. This step is crucial in letting our objective come into full circle, as we let key players in the bioeconomy get hold of a tool which allows them to make sound decisions for their economy, citizens and the planet. Given the complexity of the project, the video was produced to make it easier for us to introduce ourselves, the project\u2019s activities and its relevance to society.<\/p>\n
