Production of the new facility would be targeted for the end of 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Advanced recycling technology converts waste plastic back to its basic molecules. The resulting material is then used in INEOS crackers to replace traditional raw materials derived from oil.<\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_74588\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74588\" style=\"width: 251px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-74588\" src=\"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/thumb_500_600_TACOIL1322-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"thumb_500_600_TACOIL[1322]\" width=\"251\" height=\"167\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2020\/05\/thumb_500_600_TACOIL1322-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2020\/05\/thumb_500_600_TACOIL1322.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 251px) 100vw, 251px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-74588\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This new recycled raw material could be used by many INEOS sites to produce virgin plastic for use across medical products, food packaging, lightweight automotive parts and pipes for safe water transportation.<\/figcaption><\/figure>First trials of product from PLASTIC ENERGY\u2019s current advanced recycling process have been completed.\u00a0 The new raw material has been successfully converted into virgin polymer through the INEOS cracker at K\u00f6ln, Germany.\u00a0 \u00a0The plastics made from this trial will now be used by selected customers and brands to demonstrate the benefits of the process.<\/p>\n<p>PLASTIC ENERGY\u2019s patented technology called Thermal Anaerobic Conversion (TAC) transforms previously unrecyclable plastic waste into TACOIL. This new recycled raw material could be used by many INEOS sites to produce virgin plastic for use across medical products, food packaging, lightweight automotive parts and pipes for safe water transportation.<\/p>\n<p>Advanced recycling makes it possible to produce final product with an identical specification to virgin material. It removes all contamination so that the resulting polymers can be used in food and medical packaging, where safety standards require the highest level of product purity.<\/p>\n<p>Rob Ingram CEO INEOS Olefins &amp; Polymers Europe said: \u201cThis represents the delivery of another important milestone in the INEOS sustainability strategy.\u00a0 To take plastic waste back to virgin plastic is the ultimate definition of recycling and will create a truly Circular Economy solution.
