He leads a team of four experienced experts on life cycle assessment (LCA) and comprehensive sustainability analyses \u2013 including social impact assessment \u2013 with a focus on renewable chemistry and materials. He coordinates and supports the work of his department in research and consultancy projects, where he is also in charge of the acquisition activities. Additionally, Matthias is part of nova\u2019s overall managing team and plays an active role in the current preparatory phase of the worldwide Renewable Carbon Initiative, which will be launched in September by nova-Institute.<\/p>\n<h3>Background and expertise<\/h3>\n<p>After his Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering, Matthias gained two years of industry experience in the product management department of an international company. Subsequently, he decided to focus on the topic of sustainability, completed a Master\u2019s degree and is currently finishing a PhD in \u201cLife Cycle and Sustainability\u201d.
