According to Saucony (pronounced sock-a-knee), the company aims to have no plastics, no plastic derivatives and not even bio-plastics in its biodegradable sneakers. The company will use natural materials such as organic cotton, Tencel cellulosic fibers (manufactured by Lenzing AG), wool and natural rubber.<\/p>\n<p>The company is hoping to release its 100% biodegradable shoe collection in late 2020. The shoe-making process is said to be different from current footwear manufacturing practices including using less electricity, not using petroleum-based glues or threads, and using a stitching process from in the late 1800s.<\/p>\n<p>I like the biodegradable aspect of footwear after its end-of-life but I\u2019m curious if there has been an analysis on their lifecycle (especially the use of wool and natural rubber) and most importantly the price range of their shoes.<\/p>\n<p>PS<br \/>\nAccording to Saucony, no shoe was reportedly wasted in the making of the ad.
