{"id":57876,"date":"2018-10-31T07:26:36","date_gmt":"2018-10-31T06:26:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/?p=57876"},"modified":"2021-09-09T21:32:53","modified_gmt":"2021-09-09T19:32:53","slug":"nature-energy-to-utilise-excess-co2-in-biogas-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/nature-energy-to-utilise-excess-co2-in-biogas-agreement\/","title":{"rendered":"Nature Energy to utilise excess CO<sub>2<\/sub> in biogas agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Renewable energy firm Nature Energy announced in a press release that it had entered into a partnership with biogas producer Strandm\u00f8llen A\/S where both will collaborate to recycle excess CO2 from the \u2018world\u2019s largest\u2019 biogas plant in Esbjerg, Denmark.<\/p>\n<p>CO2 emissions from the plant will be reduced by 70% compared with a conventional biogas plant.<\/p>\n<p>According to the release, when the construction of Nature Energy\u2019s \u2018world\u2019s largest\u2019 biogas plant in Korskro near Esbjerg is completed, Strandm\u00f8llen will build one of the \u2018world\u2019s first\u2019 CO2 plants which makes it possible to purify and condense excess CO2, prior to which has been difficult to make use of.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we\u2019re to meet the Paris Agreement targets and continue to be a green winner nation in the future, we must reduce our CO2, emissions and bind the CO2 we already have in circulation more effectively. This is the task we\u2019re now undertaking,\u201d said Nature Energy CEO Ole Hveplund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the construction of the Korskro biogas plant is completed, we\u2019ll take the 40% CO2, which would otherwise have been emitted into the atmosphere, and use it for, for example, carbon dioxide in soda.
