The figures speak for themselves: biomass\u00a0is now Europe\u2019s first source of locally produced energy, representing\u00a0more than 60% of the total renewable energy consumed and employing\u00a0more than 500.000 people, similar to the pharmaceutical industry. This leading role in the energy transition \u2013 underpinned by the great diversity of the sector \u2013 deserves greater recognition\u00a0and understanding from all EU stakeholders.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AEBIOM, which has accompanied this transition for nearly 30 years, has to reflect the evolution of the sector. In this context, according to Bioenergy Europe\u2019s President Didzis Palejs, \u201c\u2019Bioenergy Europe\u2019 is a choice of clarity and simplicity.
