Sc. and M. Eng., joined the nova-Institute in 2017, working in the department Economy &amp; Policy. With her background in environmental sciences and mining engineering, Tatevik Babayan will support the nova-Institute in the area of policy and strategy for bio-based economy, techno-economic evaluation and sustainability assessment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Tasks at nova-Institute<strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-53780\" src=\"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Tatevik-Babajan-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Tatevik Babajan\" width=\"119\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2016\/02\/Tatevik-Babajan-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2016\/02\/Tatevik-Babajan-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2016\/02\/Tatevik-Babajan-600x900.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 119px) 100vw, 119px\" \/><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Tatevik is leading the new nova-Institute\u2019s conference \u201cRevolution in Food and Biomass Production\u201d (REFAB). The conference has a new approach of combining various solutions and technological advancements that are revolutionising the modern food and biomass production. She is also involved in the European project STAR4BBI, which promotes a level playing field for bio-based products with creating proposals for legislative, regulatory and standardization updates.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a German research project UFOPLAN aims at investigating opportunities for recycling precious metals from small fractions of industrial wastes with bioleaching and bioflotation processes. Tatevik will carry out a techno-economic evaluation and a sustainability assessment for this project.<\/p>\n<h3>Background and expertise<\/h3>\n<p>Tatevik Babayan was born and grown up in Armenia, since 2010 she is living in Germany. She has acquired two Master degrees: M. Sc. in the International Master of Environmental Sciences at the University of Cologne and M.
