On display will be a number of partner applications based on Luminy<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) resins from Total Corbion PLA. The Luminy<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> PLA portfolio includes both high heat and standard PLA grades and is used in a wide range of markets from packaging to durable consumer goods and electronics. PLA is a biobased and biodegradable polymer made from annually renewable resources, offering a reduced carbon footprint versus many traditional plastics. To demonstrate the innovative high heat capabilities of Luminy<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> PLA, visitors are welcome to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee at our booth, 6.2J77, brewed from a PLA coffee capsule and served in a PLA cup.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A bioplastic thermoformed black platter for attractive presentation of foods such as cheese, sushi and hors d\u2019oeuvres has been developed by\u00a0Pack &amp; Proper. It is made from Luminy<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> PLA and has been designed to exhibit a \u2018stone-look\u2019, slate appearance thanks to its surface shape &#8211; giving a more exclusive appearance to a disposable application.<\/p>\n<p>Other examples of innovative PLA applications on display include PLA injection molded speaker housings by\u00a0Os-Tech\u00a0and\u00a0Usher, PLA toys by\u00a0GRABIO,\u00a0DJ Toys\u00a0and\u00a0Genius Toy Taiwan, PLA-lined paper cups from\u00a0Totempak, single-use PLA aprons from\u00a0Gaia, PLA coffee cup lids from\u00a0WinGram, PLA tea bags from\u00a0Nonwoven Network, PLA coffee capsules from\u00a0Guanghe, thermoformed PLA packaging from\u00a0Bio4Pack, foamed PLA ice cream packaging from\u00a0Synbra, PLA ISBM bottles from\u00a0Gaojieli, PLA non-woven applications from\u00a0Yangtze, injection molded PLA tableware from\u00a0COFCO\u00a0and serviceware from\u00a0Heersi\u00a0and PLA toothbrushes from\u00a0PolyAlloy.<\/p>\n<p>Total Corbion PLA is on track to start up its new 75 kTpa PLA production plant in Rayong, Thailand in the second half of 2018.
