We are offering this funding in partnership with West Fraser, an integrated forest products company.<\/p>\n<p>Alberta Bio Future (ABF) and its sub-programs focus primarily on projects that add value to biomass in agriculture and forestry, and create new and improved bioindustrial products and bioindustrial technologies.<br \/>\nAbout this sub-program<\/p>\n<p>Lignin Challenge 1.0 was launched in February 2018. It supports early-stage work to demonstrate technical feasibility of lignin in high-value applications with potential for commercialization.<\/p>\n<p>Alberta Innovates and West Fraser will fund up to 18 projects. Funding requests up to $25,000 will be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants will receive:<\/p>\n<p>Up to $25,000 in funding.<br \/>\nQuantity of lignin from the West Fraser pilot plant.<br \/>\nAccess to researchers, capacity and facilities at InnoTech Alberta.<\/p>\n<p>Who is eligible to apply?<\/p>\n<p>Researchers at Canadian institutions, companies or other organizations.<br \/>\nProjects must be completed within one year.<\/p>\n<p>Download Program Guidelines for Alberta Bio Future, Lignin Challenge 1.0 to find out more about eligibility requirements and other important information.<br \/>\nHow to apply<\/p>\n<p>Lignin Challenge 1.0 has a single-stage, online application process: Letter of Intent (LOI).
