Currently, the demand is not covered after medicinal plants from domestic production. Therefore, the BMEL about the FNR promotes the extensive demonstration project &#8220;Improving the international competitive position of the German medicinal plant cultivation on the example of the breeding and growing technological optimization of Chamomile, valerian and lemon balm&#8221;, short camel, with a total of 35 individual projects. The first part of the project started in 2006, the last will be completed by 2020.
