Using sugar cane-based I’m green™ Polyethylene allows Mediane to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of its packaging, the use of fossil resources without compromising on quality and recyclability. For every kg of I’m green™ Polyethylene used in Mediane’s plastic sleeves, more than 4.5 kg of CO2 is saved.

“It is great to see that by combining Braskem’s I’m green™ Polyethylene and the latest polyethylene conversion technology, Mediane is able to produce a sustainable, high quality and competitive sleeve solution for the fresh produce market,” says Marco Jansen, Commercial Director Renewable Chemicals Europe & North America. “We are confident Mediane will raise great interest from both European and non-European retailers and herb producers with this innovative solution.”

“We are very much aware of the fact that we live in a throw-away culture, and that environmental issues have clearly become more of a concern with both producers and consumers.
