William Radany, Ph.D., President and CEO of Verdezyne. \u201cIt builds on other recognitions we have received over the past year, such as the Bloomberg New Energy Pioneer Award as well as USDA Certified Biobased Product Certification for BIOLON\u2122 DDDA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Verdezyne and the other Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award winners were honored at an awards ceremony today in Portland, Oregon.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement about the awards, the EPA said about Verdezyne\u2019s proprietary process for producing biobased chemicals: \u201cIn addition to using a plant-based feedstock and having lower greenhouse gas emissions, this process is also safer because it does not use high temperatures or concentrated nitric acid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An independent panel of experts convened by the American Chemical Society Green Chemistry Institute chose a handful of technology platforms, including Verdezyne, and made recommendations to the EPA for 2016 winners.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>About Verdezyne<\/h3>\n<p>Verdezyne is a synthetic biology company offering biobased chemicals developed using proprietary metabolic pathway engineering tools.
