The environmentally sustainable biopolymers are extracted from renewable resources. INZEA® can be processed in standard polymer processing machinery by means of injection moulding, extrusion and thermoforming.

INZEA® are biobased polymers, up to 85 percent of which are produced from renewable resources like non-genetically modified polylactic acid (PLA) and starch. Thanks to optimal mechanical properties and processing parameters similar to those of polyolefins and styrene plastics, INZEA® is a sustainable replacement for petroleum-based polymers. It is possible to save large amounts of energy due to the low processing temperatures.

The fields of application are diverse. All INZEA® products are suitable food contact materials in line with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 on plastic. Therefore, the bioploymers are used in packaging products, for instance, in dimensionally stable shells, cups and, larger containers in retail and crockery and cutlery in gastronomy. INZEA® is also appropriate for products like planters and clamps for use in agri- and horticulture. These biodegrade in the ground, enriching the soil with nutrients: With the result that they can remain in the ground after the harvest.

The INZEA® product range complies with USDA Certified Biobased Product Certification, which is based on the ASTM D6866 standard. The OK compost label for INZEA® guarantees compliance with EN 13432, the European standard for compostability in industrial compost plants. The associated ecotoxicity test shows that INZEA® degrades harmlessly in the soil and has no impact on the quality or growth of plants.

Please direct questions related to the purchase and use of INZEA® to Biesterfeld Product Manager Philip Malke at +49 40 32008-283 or p.malke@biesterfeld.com.

About Biesterfeld Plastic

Biesterfeld Plastic GmbH is a leading distributor in the European plastics and rubber industry with long-standing sales partnerships in more than 42 countries.
