(BIOA: NYSE), announces that it has joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bio-amber.com\/ignitionweb\/data\/media_centre_files\/1072\/American_Business_Act_on_Climate_Change_-_BioAmbers_Pledge_final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">American Business Act on Climate Pledge<\/a>, joining more than 140 companies from across the American economy that are standing with the Obama Administration to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to climate action and to voice support for a strong outcome to the COP21 Paris climate negotiations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BioAmber uses leading edge biotechnology to deliver a significant reduction in greenhouse gases (GHGs) and energy consumption.<\/p>\n<p>We have built and are operating the world\u2019s largest succinic acid plant \u2013 BioAmber Sarnia located in Sarnia, Ontario. Our innovative process converts sugar into a building block chemical used to make plastics, resins, paints, textiles, synthetic leather, and personal care products.<\/p>\n<p>By using renewable feedstock instead of petroleum, we have eliminated greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and significantly cut energy consumption, while producing value added chemicals that are exported around the world.
