The conclusion of the organizers was positive, however, they also made clear that “not only is a retrospective, but also a look forward to more challenges,” as Dr. Marie-Luise Rottmann-Meyer emphasized the 3N-Kompetenzzentrum in Werlte.

INTERREG

3N is among the 30 Dutch and German organizations and companies participating in the project. The Ems Dollart Region (EDR) provides guidance as lead partner in the settlement of the project. “Agrobiopolymeren” within the framework of the INTERREG IV A program Deutschland-Netherlands co-financed with funds from the “European Regional Development Fund” (ERDF), the State, the Province of Drenthe and the Land of Lower Saxony.

Natural Fibre

In 17 sub-projects, for example, new materials have been developed from bio-degradable plastics, or the use of natural fibers (e.g. in biocomposites) was examined. In addition, were the production of degradable packaging, the development of construction and insulation material on the basis of the hemp and improve the recovery of residual fibers and raw materials centrally within the project. The intensive cooperation between Dutch and German partners created a cross-border network in the use of biopolymers that provides a good basis for a future project.

Non-Food sector

The eligibility period of the INTERREG program must be launched with the support of EU funds to the project “Bio-economy in the Non-Food sector.” Topics here include the development of new materials and innovative products as well as the production of bio-based products for the housing industry. Another target is to further improve the knowledge transfer between the companies, universities and public institutions. “We have already shown that by cross-border cooperation in the area of the Ems-Dollard region can achieve excellent results in the field of bio-economy.

The project “Agrobiopolymeren” was a huge step. Now comes the next phase of development. The aim is to develop new business ideas. We shall not only borders, but also transcending theme together, “Dr. Marie-Luise Rottmann-Meyer. That the Dutch-German cooperation in the field of agrobiopolymeren and bio-economy plays a major role emerged during the forum of the “Biobased Business Event Emmen”.

Cross-border cooperation

The presenter of a radio program surveyed the 400 guests of the meeting and posited various theses. During the thesis “We have cross-border cooperation needed for a successful future in the field of bio-economy” voted unanimously to all guests. “A clear signal”, also found Township councilor Emmen and EDR board Bouke Arends. During his opening speech at the “Biobased Business Event” he pointed at the forefront of the region. “We are a leader in the industry Green Chemistry. And we also have the CBC an opportunity to reinforce this strong position even more and expand. “

In the framework of the “Biobased Business Event Emmen” recently found the final meeting of the “Agrobiopolymeren” project.
