Currently in the UK, for instance, the debate around the plastic bags tax is heavily conditioned by products claiming biodegradability and compostability, which do not comply with any EN or ASTM Standard, severely damaging our sector there and in Europe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is now the opportunity to change this. Thanks to the support given by some industry players, a new trade association in the UK called the British Association of Biobased and Biodegradable Chemicals is being established.
