The Green Deal aims to further stimulate the (re)gaining valuable raw materials from waste water.<\/p>\n<p>Through the Energy and Commodities Factory, a joint initiative Water, all the 23 Dutch water boards together to overcome energy and raw materials. In 2011, already signed a Green Deal Energy Industry. Of the approximately 80 sewage water treatment plants where biogas is there are now seven converted to Energy Industry. On some systems also won phosphate from wastewater. The now closed Green Deal Raw brings the WWTP as energy and raw plant one step closer. Besides phosphate from wastewater can also cellulose polymers, alginate and CO<sub>2<\/sub> are extracted. Companies can use these materials again. There are many possible applications: phosphate as green agricultural fertilizer, cellulose for asphalt and CO<sub>2<\/sub> in greenhouses or the process industry.<\/p>\n<p>Demonstration<\/p>\n<p>The Green Deal Raw water boards promising start demonstration projects supported by tender to realization by the government and followed to learn from. The state takes away barriers and actively looking for in regulations for solutions to practical problems, for example around licensing. These investments are tens of millions of euros. Stowa simultaneously invests millions in research for new recovery techniques and possibilities for processing and marketing. The government has pledged to help with finding additional funding. Finally, there is a package of activities for higher education on the topic.<\/p>\n<h3>Guideline<\/h3>\n<p>During the signing was also a legal guideline presented containing an inventory of possible (legal) barriers and promising approaches, commissioned by the Association of Water. The main conclusion: the supply of raw materials and energy fits within the statutory duties of the water boards. There are still bottlenecks.
