He believes the new material has huge potential ramifications and benefits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have gone beyond the original remit of replacing the traditional water bottle or even replacing PET plastics and other derivatives. I believe it has the potential to transform both packaging and the way we think about plastic,\u201d he told PRW.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Floreon was developed was as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with leading materials scientists at the University of Sheffield.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The polymer blend is up to four times stronger than standard bioplastic PLA and requires 62% less energy to produce. Chatterton says: \u201cRival products regularly need heat of 280-300 degrees centigrade during the manufacturing process, Floreon can be processed at temperatures below 100 degrees centigrade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another key benefit of Floreon is that it is fully recyclable and also biodegradable.
