Ethanol output jumped 19 percent to 25.4 billion liters (6.7 billion gallons), while sugar production rose 0.6 percent to 34.3 million metric tons.<\/p>\n<p>Sugar futures in New York have slumped 50 percent in three years after global output led by Brazil surged to record levels.
