A total of 365 participants from 26 countries joined the world’s largest “Defossilisation Summit”, discussing how fossil carbon in the chemical and related industries can be gradually replaced by renewable carbon from biomass, CO₂ and recycling. This is the key pathway to reducing fossil dependence, strengthening supply chain resilience, contributing to climate protection, and ensuring long-term competitiveness.

Experts discussed fundamental questions about the future of the European chemical industry, innovations were awarded and the framework conditions to accelerate defossilisation were presented.

In-depth discussions took place during three evening networking events and throughout the conference, joint strategies were developed, and business deals were initiated. The matchmaking tool set a new record with 350 one-to-one meetings.

Please refer to the press release for full details: https://renewable-carbon.eu/news/detergents-and-cleaning-agents-made-from-co2-high-quality-textiles-made-from-wood-and-bio-based-coagulants-in-wastewater-treatment-innovations-for-the-defossilisation-of-the-chemical-industry/

Save the date: The Renewable Materials Conference 2027 will take place from 28–30 September 2027 at the Maternushaus in Cologne, Germany

In 2027, the Renewable Materials Conference (RMC) will return to Cologne’s Maternushaus, just 10 minutes from the central station.
