The first book on the European Bioeconomy is finally here. A journey into the industrial and economic revolution which has at its foundation the use of biological resources, through a series of interviews with the main European players: big companies such as BASF, DSM, KLM, Evonik, Henkel, Novamont, M&amp;G Group and Versalis-ENI, start -ups, research centers and policy makers.<\/p>\n<p>Interviews which are accompanied by an introduction based on an analysis of the economic crisis in which we find ourselves swamped since 2008, but also gives an account of what is the European strategy launched in February 2012 by the European Commission led by Jos\u00e9 Manuel Barroso.<\/p>\n<p>The book, with the e-blook (portmanteau between the blog and book), wants to be a contribution to reflection and debate, but also a moment of disclosure of a topic that will increasingly characterize our economy and our society. Because it is possible to reconcile economic growth with the creation of jobs, rural development and environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The new industrial revolution, that will be driven by the use of biological resource, needs however a cultural revolution. The bioeconomy also affects our way of life: our consumption of water (we consume every day 137 litres for domestic use, 167 litres for daily use products, 3,496 for the food we eat), food waste (1.3 billion tons in the world, enough to feed 4 times), transport habits (more bikes and fewer private cars).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Inside the European Bioeconomy.
