Carbon transformation-focused cleantech company Twelve announced that it has secured a credit facility of up to $45 million, with the financing used to refinance the construction facility for its new AirPlant One facility, and supporting additional expansion at the site.<\/p>\n\n\n

Founded in 2015, California-based Twelve produces chemicals, materials and fuels from captured CO2<\/sub> combined with water. The process is powered by renewable energy and produces water and oxygen as byproducts. According to Twelve, its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) has the potential to reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional jet fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twelve recently launched AirPlant One in Moses Lake, Washington, the first commercial-scale facility in the U.S. to produce E-Jet fuel, a power-to-liquid sustainable aviation fuel made from CO2<\/sub>, water and renewable electricity. The facility also produces E-Naphtha, a synthetic chemical feedstock used as a building block for products including plastics, textiles and other everyday goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AirPlant One uses the company\u2019s power-to-liquid technology to produce E-Jet and E-Naphtha from CO2<\/sub>, water and renewable electricity, with the facility powered entirely by hydropower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company said that the new credit facility refinanced the AirPlant One construction facility following its transition to commercial operation and will support further expansion at the site, including increased hydrogen production capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This financing reflects that shift, from construction phase to operating asset, and gives us the capital to expand our capabilities at the site. Scaling additional hydrogen production represents the next phase of growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The new credit facility was led by Endurance Capital and Nomura as joint bookrunner, with Nomura also acting as administrative agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
