{"id":180568,"date":"2026-09-03T07:20:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T05:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/?p=180568"},"modified":"2026-08-27T11:30:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T09:30:04","slug":"econetix-adds-new-biochar-and-bamboo-project-to-its-portfolio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/econetix-adds-new-biochar-and-bamboo-project-to-its-portfolio\/","title":{"rendered":"Econetix Adds New Biochar And Bamboo Project To Its Portfolio"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p>Econetix, a global asset&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/econetix.net\/\">manager<\/a>&nbsp;of high-integrity carbon projects, announced that it is expanding its portfolio of offerings with a new biochar and bamboo project in Vietnam, developed in partnership with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/econations.vn\/\">EcoNations<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"680\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2026\/08\/CH-Homepage-Post-size-2026-08-25T144044.173-680x500.png.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-180588\" style=\"width:630px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2026\/08\/CH-Homepage-Post-size-2026-08-25T144044.173-680x500.png.webp 680w, https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2026\/08\/CH-Homepage-Post-size-2026-08-25T144044.173-680x500.png-300x221.webp 300w, https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2026\/08\/CH-Homepage-Post-size-2026-08-25T144044.173-680x500.png-150x110.webp 150w, https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/media\/2026\/08\/CH-Homepage-Post-size-2026-08-25T144044.173-680x500.png-367x270.webp 367w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a9 Unsplash<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Set to operate in Vietnam\u2019s Kh\u00e1nh H\u00f2a Province, the project will establish a 240-hectare bamboo plantation to secure a long-term, sustainable feedstock supply for biochar production.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To produce the biochar, the initiative will operate a 40 t\/day continuous pyrolysis facility, which is expected to produce 12,000 MT of biochar annually for carbon removal and soil amendment sales.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The carbon dioxide removal (CDR) from the project will be generated in alignment with <a href=\"http:\/\/puro.earth\/\">Puro.earth<\/a>\u2019s Puro Standard Biochar methodology.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As shared by the developers, once this project reaches full operational capacity, it is expected to generate 30,000 CORCs on a yearly basis, storing CO2 away for 100+ years through biochar application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By combining engineered CDR with sustainable bamboo cultivation, this project will create dual carbon revenue streams while creating rural employment opportunities and boosting soil health in this area.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"econetix-and-econations-plan-for-sustainable-biomass-sourcing\">Econetix and EcoNations\u2019 plan for sustainable biomass sourcing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In its first four years of operation, the facility will use FSC-certified acacia and eucalyptus biomass as feedstock, sourced from over 16,000 hectares of accredited suppliers within a 50 km radius. This approach, the developers share, will eliminate early-stage supply risk.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From year 5, the developers intend to switch the biomass feedstock sourcing to the project\u2019s own bamboo plantation, as it reaches its first harvest.
