Worley has been selected by Dow to provide front-end engineering design (FEED) services under a new engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) contract\u00a0 for the cogeneration component of Dow\u2019s\u00a0Path2Zero project<\/a>\u00a0in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dow\u2019s Path2Zero expansion project will create the world\u2019s first net-zero emissions integrated ethylene cracker and derivatives site with respect to Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Worley\u2019s scope includes a brownfield installation of a cogeneration facility with integrated post-combustion carbon capture that is expected to be operational towards the end of 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Path2Zero is a flagship project for Dow and the industry, aiming to decarbonize 20 percent of Dow\u2019s global ethylene capacity and triple the site\u2019s polyethylene output. The facility will produce 3.2 million metric tonnes of certified low- to zero-carbon polyethylene and derivatives annually, supporting Dow\u2019s customers and partners worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work will be delivered by Worley\u2019s Canada and India-based Global Integrated Delivery team, supported by Worley\u2019s global network.<\/p>\n\n\n
